Nobody ever remembers who came in second place–except the guys who wrote this book!

What a outstanding conception for a book! How a great deal of of us may assert to be the very original to do anything of any importance? Not many–that’s how many. The world has far more second, third or fourth place finishers than primary place. And as I found out in The First Book Of Seconds, the story of the Second Strongest Man in the World, or the Second Name for the Popsicle, the story of the second place runner up is once in a while more interesting and more agreeably diverting than the First. Lots of persons know widely known and esteemed firsts, but I was shocked by how little I knew with regards to widely known and esteemed seconds.

This book was a gift that came in the mail and the title and conception threw me, but as soon as I cracked it open and dug in it became a bestloved bathroom book. The authors, Matthew Murrie and Steve Murrie distinctly have a love of all things Second. The listings are informative but the tone is light, and each famous Second is followed an interesting addendum which is related to the subject. The First Book of Seconds: 220 of the Most Random, Remarkable, Respectable (and Regrettable) Runners-Up and Their Almost Claim to Fame

This is an idealisti bathroom book, a term that once in a while gets frowned on, but it’s by no means a slam. Why waste time staring at that stray cobweb up on the bathroom ceiling for the duration of your next bath, when you may be expanding your mind and having a good chuckle.

I just noticed something that I hope you don’t hold versus my review, but it looks like I’m the primary person to review this book for famous seconds. Life’s just amusive like that sometimes.
