1Disappointing
By N. Avery
I ordered this item and was very disappointed. The body is made with exceedingly cheap plastic and the head looks like somebody stuffed a knee high nylon with a few rye seeds and then added it full of coconut fibers. The product diamensions given are for plastic tube packaging that it comes in. The item is genuinely littler than stated. My head came disconnected for the duration of shipment (or at warehouse- I guess I’m not sure where actually) and “Bobbled” inside the tube, so I had brown fuzz all over inside the tube. This was going to be a gift for a basketball lover. This would be a great item to have carried in a “Dollar Store” type setting. But for the price I paid, it was sent back the same day I opened the box. It would be cute at 90% off syndication pricing. For $13, it was expecting a higher quality product like a Chia Pet equivilant- but that is not what arrived.

5Cute gift for adult or child
By Toodles!
I gave the Basketball grow-a-head to my husband for Christmas. It was very cute. The bottom/body looks like a basketball. I held it in our kitchen window and it uses rather a bit of water. Although this body is colored plastic (as opposed to clear glass like the others), you may still see the water line which is important.

I try to make sure the water stays beauteous high, so I probably refill it each 3 days or so. Sometimes I rinse the head beneath the sink too. I don’t think you have to, but I do it anyway.

I commend this item as a fun gift to a sports fan. I also purchased the Santa, Reindeer and Elf for gifts at the office as well as our own house. There are a large total of themes.

Update 7/10: I’ve found that the rope that dangles to absorb water may get weak after 6 months or so. When filling the container, be very careful if you try to clean off the rope (sometimes mine got a slim on it – so I cleaned it off) – the rope pulled/broke off, so now there is no way for my little guy to absorb water. In general, with the three of mine, they seem to last when it comes to 6 months.
