What You Need to Learn About a Basketball Court Stencil Kit

A basketball stencil kit is a type of sports stencil kit especially designed for basketball. Stencils are patterns that can be used to trace a certain shape or image. Common stencils show shapes and normally show familiar patterns. Basketball stencils are relatively the more complicated type of stencil. However, it is very useful in creating a correct and precise basketball court. A basketball court must be symmetrical and its circle be shaped in a perfect circle, not in an oblong. The stencils help in achieving the correct basketball layout.

Also, most basketball stencil kits allow creation or painting of at least a half of the court in a suitable surface. The main purpose of using the stencil kit in drawing the court is to make the court boundaries and dimensions more accurate. The stencil kit normally comes with all the stencil marks that are necessary to mark a complete basketball court on just about any surface. It also comes with drawings that specify the measurements, particularly the distances of the different lines relative from each other. It also specifies where the lines should be placed. Some also specify the recommended surfaces for drawing the court. However, certain surfaces are not suitable for certain types of paint. The materials such as the paint for the basketball court must be able to suit the surroundings wherein the court will be placed. Normally used surfaces are those of concrete and asphalt.

These basketball stencil kits can provide a way to make painting regulation lanes and areas in a basketball court easier. The stencils allow even kids, with proper supervision, to create an accurate and at the very least, an acceptable drawing of a basketball court. Normally, these stencil kits are used on flat surfaces that are made of concrete, asphalt or some other material. These kits can also be used for both indoor and outdoor courts. It comes in different sections so that all parts of the basketball court, such as the three point line and the free throw line can be properly shown in the court. The stencil kit allows creation of both broken and solid lines within the basketball court, providing a realistic feel to the court, similar to those courts used in the professional basketball competitions.

Basketball stencil kits come in sections made of durable paper layout. The paper layout allows for the appropriation of areas for the court. It allows precise measurements for the distances of the lines in the court, as compared to guesswork. It also allows lines in the basketball court to be created perfectly, or near perfectly. But to achieve the aforementioned, the papers have to be taped to the surface to distinguish the areas. Once done, the stencils have to be checked. It is possible that the paper is not stuck on the floor correctly and may be loose in some areas. This can create lines that are crooked or even lines that should not be there. Once the stencil is already checked, the painting of the court then follows. Normally, the paint is not included in the stencil kit although most include the paint roller. The stencil normally indicates the typical color of paints to be used. After drying of the paint, the stencil is removed leaving only the necessary lines and is ready to be used.

Aspiring dunkers can also gradually raise the basket 6 inches at a time as their vertical improves, although the 18-inch solid steel rim is not a breakaway rim. The black rim is instead extremely stable, with 1/2-inch steel braces, welded steel net hooks, and a 50-gram net.

About Lifetime
In the beginning, all the founder of Lifetime Products wanted was a sturdier basketball pole for his backyard. With this in mind, he found and purchased a piece of heavy-duty used pipe, a sheet of plywood, and a basketball rim. The resulting backyard basketball standard functioned perfectly in his backyard. Seeing the potential of his hoop, he placed an ad in the local free classified newspaper and made his first sale. The rest–as they say–is history. He created the American PlayWorld Company in 1973, based out of his garage in Riverdale, Utah. After expanding into several other types of playground equipment, he eventually moved to a bigger location in South Ogden, Utah. Several years later, the company transformed the basketball industry by introducing the Quick Adjust basketball pole, the first complete basketball system you could raise and lower with a broomstick. In 1986, American PlayWorld created Lifetime Products, a separate company intended to concentrate specifically on manufacturing adjustable basketball systems. In the ensuing years, the company has grown from having 18 employees in a 32,000-square-foot space in half a warehouse to more than 1,400 employees and 2.6 million square feet over 23 separate buildings.

4Great for Little One’s, good for everyone else
By Richard Johnson
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R22DT9HJO6KB3I Read all the reviews on this. Mind you, I was a bit skeptical at the price, but in the end, I locked and loaded on this one and am very happy. Below is my written review and I’ve also attached some video. Read the review first.

3Hoops for amateurs
By T. Leary
This backboard works perfectly for our purpose. It is portable, but I recommend sand for weighting so you don’t have to worry about water freezing. Also, changing the height of the pole is a two-person task. We have a nine-year-old daughter for whom it was purchased, and she can’t put enough power into her shots to do any damage, but if you have kids who want to hang on the rim or shoot from a long distance, this probably isn’t the right set for you.

4Great for kids!
By Kristos E. Zagorianos
I ordered this from Amazon, and it came very quickly. It wasn’t the most difficult or complicated product to assemble but it wasn’t a walk in the park either. There was one missing bolt, but I happened to have one laying around.
If you will not be changing height often, this is an awesome set up. If you have multiple children with dramatic differences in skills and height, you may want to consider something else. Mainly something with an easier adjustment feature.
my two boys (2nd grade and Kindergarten) love this ‘hoop’. To change the height you have to tip it over( using physics its not that hard). But, you will need one person to pull the backboard out, and hold it steady so you can re-insert the removable bolt.
There are some who will ‘poo-poo’ any portable system. if you want professional quality backboard feel and quality, then….get a professional quality system…but if you have kids under 12, and want something to play with, then this is a great system.
